The State Bank of India has started the online application process for the SBI PO recruitment exam that is scheduled to be conducted in June this year. The last date for online application is 07.05.2015. You can find more details here

SBI PO 2015 Selection Process

As usual, SBI will conduct the PO recruitment selection process in multiple phases including, Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, Group Discussion & Interview.

Important Note: Starting from this year, SBI will also conduct a separate screening test to check the eligibility of candidates. It is mandatory to clear this screening test for all candidates.

Phase-I Preliminary Examination:

Test type: Objective Test

Exam mode: Online

No. of Questions: 100

Subjects: English Language (30), Quantitative Aptitude (35) and Reasoning Ability (35)

Total marks: 100

Test Duration: 1 hour

Candidates need to qualify in each of three tests to be eligible for the next round.

Phase-II Main Examination:

SBI PO Main Exam 2015 scheduled on 26th July. Download Admit card

Main examination will be of objective questions for 200 marks and descriptive test of 50 marks. Both tests will be conducted online.

1) Objective Test:

Test duration: 2 hours

Total marks: 200


  1. Test of English Language (Grammar, Vocabulary, Comprehension etc.)
  2. Test of General Awareness, Marketing & Computers
  3. Test of Date Analysis & Interpretation
  4. Test of Reasoning (High level)

Candidates need to qualify in each of 4 tests individually

2) Descriptive Test:

Test duration: 1 hour

Total marks: 50

Subject: English Language (Letter Writing & Essay)

Candidates need to qualify in the descriptive test

> Descriptive test paper will be evaluated only of those candidates who qualify in the objective tests

Phase-III Group Discussion & Interview:

Candidates, who make it to the selected candidates’ list after pre and main rounds, will be called for Group Discussion and Interview rounds by the bank. The test will be conducted for 50 marks.

The score of Main exam (out of 250) and phase-III (out of 50) will be considered for the final selection.

Candidates, who are selected in the final round, will be appointed probationally for two years. SBI will conduct a screening test after 2 years of probation period. Candidates, who score good marks, will be promoted to higher level while those, who do not clear the screening test, will be relieved from their duties.

Important Note: SBI has limited the no. of attempts for PO exam aspirants. General category candidates can now appear in the SBI PO recruitment maximum 4 times. The limit for OBC candidates is 7 times and there is no limit for SC/ST candidates.
