State Bank of India is conducting PO online exam for the recruitment of probationary officers in the bank. Recently SBI announced notification for various 2000 PO posts this year. SBI also announced the new exam pattern for this recruitment. Candidates need to face prelim and main exam process for the current recruitment process. Phase 1: Preliminary Exam
All candidates, who applied for SBI PO recruitment 2015 and are going to appear in the exam, must appear in the prelim exam. The exam will be worth 100 marks and of one hour time duration. In this section, question will be asked from English language, quantitative aptitude, and reasoning ability.

It is mandatory for all candidates to qualify the prelim test to be able to move to next round. Around 20 times of candidates from available no. of posts will be selected after prelim test
Phase 2: Main exam
Those candidates, who score well and qualify in prelim exam are called for the main exam for PO recruitment.
SBI PO Main Exam 2015 is scheduled on 26.07.2015
The Main examination consists of two papers, an objective type paper of 200 marks and a descriptive test of 50 marks. Here are the details
i) Objective Test Pattern for Main Exam
Objective test contains 200 marks questions in 4 sections and total duration will be 2 hours. The test is conducted online and includes following sections
- Test of English language (grammar and vocabulary etc.. )
- Test of General awareness marketing and computers
- Test of Data Analysis
- Test of Reasoning high level
SBI PO Main Exam Objective Paper Syllabus
English Language: Reading Comprehension, Jumbled Sentences, Close Passages, Errors Correction, etc.
General Awareness & Marketing Awareness & Computer: Current Affairs, Banking Awareness, Computer Awareness (fundamentals) & Marketing basics
Data Analysis: Line graphs, Bar chart, Pie chart, Tables, Probability, etc.
Reasoning: Input – output (machine coding and decoding), Sentence coding, Logical questions, Syllogism, Puzzle / Seating Arrangement, Data Sufficiency, Directions, etc.
ii) Descriptive Test Pattern & Syllabus
The descriptive test paper will be conducted online and is of 1 hour duration and worth of 50 marks. It carries questions only form English language including letter writing, Paragraph, Precise Writing, Reading Comprehension and essay writing.

Phase 3: GD and Interview
Last and final phase of the SBI PO recruitment process is Group Discussion and Interview. Those candidates, who score well in Phase 2 exam, will be called for phase 3. Merit list for interview is made based only on phase 2 exam.
Group discussion is worth 20 marks and the Personal interview is conducted for 30 marks.
The final selection for SBI PO recruitment will be based on Phase 2 marks and the performance in GD and Interview.
