UPSC NDA NA (II) 2015 Exam Pattern & Syllabus

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts NDA & NA Recruitment/ Admission Test twice every year for the admission of candidates to Officers’ training courses in National Defence Academy & National Academy. ### UPSC NDA NA (II) 2015 Selection Process

The selection process of NDA NA exam involves following two steps

- Written Examination
- Interview

#### 1. Written Examination

UPSC conducts a written examination as the first step for NDA selection process. The exam is based on Maths and General Ability Test subjects. Exam pattern & syllabus are available below.

Candidates, who clear the cut off for written exam, will be called for the Interview round.

#### 2. Interview

The Interview (Intelligence and Personality Test) will be conducted by SSB (Services selection board) at one of the headquarters. Interview process involves following tests.

- Intelligence Test & Personality Test (for Army, Navy Wings & 10 +2 Entry Scheme)
- Pilot Aptitude Test (Air Force Wing)

SSB interview is held in two stages – Stage I & Stage II.

Stage I includes Intelligence tests & Picture Perception test. Only candidates, who clear stage I tests, are eligible for Stage II Interview.

Stage II involves Interview, Group Testing Officers Tasks & Psychology Tests.

- Analytical Geometry Of Two And Three Dimensions: : Rectangular Cartesian Coordinate System. Distance Formula. Equation Of A Line In Various Forms. Angle Between Two Lines. Distance Of A Point From A Line. Equation Of A Circle In Standard And In General Form. Standard Forms Of Parabola, Ellipse And Hyperbola. Eccentricity And Axis Of A Conic. **Paper-II: General Ability Test**

Part ‘A’ – English: The Question Paper In English Will Be Designed To Test The Candidate’s Understanding Of English And Workman Like Use Of Words. The Syllabus Covers Various Aspects Like: Grammar And Usage, Vocabulary, Comprehension And Cohesion In Extended Text To Test The Candidate’s Proficiency In English.

Part ‘B’ – General Knowledge: The Question Paper On General Knowledge Will Broadly Cover The Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, General Science, Social Studies, Geography And Current Events. The Syllabus Given Below Is Designed To Indicate The Scope Of These Subjects Included In This Paper. The Topics Mentioned Are Not To Be Regarded As Exhaustive And Questions On Topics Of Similar Nature Not Specifically Mentioned In The Syllabus May Also Be Asked.
